Following the success of launching the 'MICHELIN Key' award in 15 leading travel destinations throughout 2024 and early 2025, this marks a significant milestone in recognizing and honoring hotels and accommodations that stand out globally.

In addition to the 'MICHELIN Key' award, the 'MICHELIN Guide' will also introduce four new special awards for the first time, celebrating excellence in various aspects of the service industry.

The award announcements will take place online via social media and the 'MICHELIN Guide' platforms, as well as during an exclusive celebration in Paris, France.

This will be the first time travelers can experience a seamless and comfortable journey, combining quality from the trusted MICHELIN selection standards with comprehensive accommodation booking services, making it easier than ever to find and book the best hotels in the world.

The 'MICHELIN Guide' is a renowned restaurant guide, particularly known for awarding the 'MICHELIN Star,' which is widely recognized. In recent years, it has also independently compiled a guide to hotels worldwide, covering over 7,000 accommodations in more than 125 countries.

Similar to the 'MICHELIN Star' awards that present the best dining experiences, the 'MICHELIN Key' will compile information on the most outstanding accommodation services in the hotel guide, evaluated rigorously by 'MICHELIN Guide' inspectors based on five international selection criteria. The 'MICHELIN Key' emphasizes a comprehensive hotel experience beyond general amenities to create a new, reliable international standard for excellent service, categorized as follows:

Hotels awarded this distinction are unique gems that offer something extraordinary or the best in their category, dedicated to exceptional service and providing a better experience than establishments at the same price level.

2 MICHELIN Keys: Outstanding Stay Experience

Hotels awarded this distinction excel in every aspect, creating an unforgettable experience. They are characterized by unique features and charm, operated with pride and attention to detail, boasting beautiful design or architecture, and providing experiences that connect with the local culture.

3 MICHELIN Keys: Memorable Superior Stay Experience

Hotels awarded this distinction offer breathtaking and delightful experiences, providing top-notch service and comfort in a stylish and luxurious manner. They are the most outstanding hotels in the world and destinations in themselves for a once-in-a-lifetime trip, embodying the spirit of exceptional service in every aspect, making the stay a memorable experience that lingers in travelers' minds for years to come.

After selecting over 1,500 outstanding hotels for the initial round, the 'MICHELIN Guide' is now moving to the next phase to present the list of the best hotels in the world. Currently, the inspection team is working on the final selection of hotels to receive the 'MICHELIN Key' award.

Introducing Four New Special Awards for the First Time

In addition to the 'MICHELIN Key' award, the 'MICHELIN Guide' will also introduce four special awards to honor establishments that stand out beyond the general categories and celebrate excellence and uniqueness in specialized service sectors.

Each special award will be given to only one hotel, with the winners announced at the awards ceremony on October 8. Prior to that, the nominees (five per award) will be revealed through social media and the 'MICHELIN Guide' platforms according to the following schedule:

The 2025 'MICHELIN Key' awards ceremony will take place in an exclusive event in Paris, France, and will be live-streamed online via social media and the 'MICHELIN Guide' platforms.

This MICHELIN Guide Hotels Ceremony will be held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, a contemporary art museum reflecting timeless culture and exquisite design, where attendees can enjoy stunning views of the Louvre Museum and the Tuileries Garden.

This special event for industry professionals will gather award-winning hotel businesses (with representatives from approximately 300 international hotels), special award winners, leading media, and top thought leaders in the service industry all in one place.

This award ceremony is organized to celebrate and share success, while honoring the culture of the service industry, the concept of excellent work, and outstanding global expertise.
